General solutions
SpiderMUX is a modular device that accepts up to eight FXS or FXO modules, each with four analog ports. FXS and FXO modules can be mixed in one SpiderMUX chassis. The following schema shows scenario with a FXO module connected to the PSTN network and a FXS module in which an analog phone is plugged. The link between the two modules in both directions is handled by the Asterisk® PBX over TDMoE protocol transported over Ethernet network. Module that integrates Ethernet controller and switch connects SpiderMUX to the network.

FXS and FXO modules
SpiderMUX scales well in different scenarios - from small office networks to large MAN networks. On one hand, combining minimal set of FXO and FXS modules in one chassis is an easy way to implement a scalable small Asterisk® office PBX (pic. 1) - there is always possible to add more analog interface modules or another SpiderMUX device.
On other hand, it is easy to install different devices in geographically distant locations and connect them over Ethernet LAN or MAN to the central office (pic. 2).
